Any standard GPS receiver which provides NMEA 2.0 protocol output to your laptops serial port may be used. FarmerGPS uses RMC and GGA values which are standard output strings on most devices.

FarmerGPS.EXE requires Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 to run on your computer. This framework is already part of any Microsoft Vista or Windows 7 installation, but must be downloaded and installed seperately for Windows XP orWindows 2000. Since the installation file for Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 is quite large (23.7 MB), it might take up to one hour to download if you have a dial-up Internet connection. It takes about 8 minutes to download Microsoft .Net Framework installation file for a DSL connection.

To check whether .Net Framework 2.0 is installed on your computer, please go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, and double-click on Add or Remove Programs. If you see "Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0" on the list, it is already installed. If you need to download and install Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0, please click here to download the installation file (dotnetfx.exe) directly from Microsoft. Remember Windows Vista and Windows 7 have the .Net Framework installed already, thus you will not need to download it!

For FarmerGPS version 5, you must install the Microsoft XNA Framework 3.1. This framework must be installed on all Windows OS versions and can be downloaded for free here

FarmerGPS software :
FarmerGPS 5 does require a newer graphic card since it features a 3D perspective view.
Version 4 uses standard drawing techniques for a 2D birdseye view every graphic card should support.
Please test version 5 on your netbook before you buy. We will continue to support version 4 for older laptops, however any new features will only be available in version 5.
Remember to install the XNA Framework first! XNA Framework 3.1

Important note: If you are using the 3-boom interface box with version 4 and are upgrading to version 5, you will have to re-wire Pin1 of your 3-boom box. Please check the documentation for the "interface box".

Simply double-click FarmerGPS5.msi on your laptop. (ensure Microsoft Framework 2.0 is installed first) If you have an existing installation, please uninstall with Control Panel/Remove Programs.
